Writer/Producer

Glenn HopperGlenn B. Hopper III writes dark thrillers and even darker comedies.

Lying somewhere in between is The Hanged Man, which is Glenn's first feature film.

A former sailor, journalist and freelance writer, Glenn now calls himself an entrepreneur or a pirate (depending on his audience), who has worked in industries ranging from used cars to telecom to teaching at a small college in rural South Carolina.  But his first love has always been story telling.

Glenn works as an editor and story consultant to independent artists.  Since completion of The Hanged Man, he has hosted a panel on fundraising for independent filmmakers, and has consulted on several indie film projects.  Most recently, Glenn served as a creative and technical consultant and producer on the HD travel show Trail Mix.

Glenn says he feels comfortable as an advisor to independent filmmakers because of his mix of experiences.  In addition to his creative work, Glenn holds a master's degree in business administration, to which he credits his success as an independent filmmaker.  "It's one thing to be able to tell a story," he says.  "If you can't also sell your story and your dream while giving investors at least a modicum of faith that you will be a good steward of their investment and trust ... then you'll be destined to the ranks of those whose screenplays sit in their bottom drawers or in their parents' attics."

Glenn's attic, on the other hand, is filled with Navy issue dungarees, computer parts and economics texts.

Glenn, once referred to by an entertainment writer as "Abbie Hoffman in chinos," now lives in the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife, three children, and a pack of adopted malamutes.
